Classified Intervention Assistant
Incumbents are responsible for performing a broad range support activities pertaining to educational programs and student intervention. The Intervention Assistant is a stand alone classification.
The Intervention Assistant must be Highly Qualified. This position would provide support to Math and Reading Interventionists by working with students on instructional activities. The instructional Assistant interfaces with instructional technology and supports data input for progress monitoring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Instructional work with students.
Other responsibilities to include the following:
5.5 hours per day
2.5 hours per day
Assists Reading and Math Interventionists by working with students on instructional activities and/or interventions before, during, and after school.
Prepares classroom for activities, including organizing intervention materials.
Assists in data management
Assists with the SuccessMaker Lab for Reading and Mathematics.
Attends monthly professional development meetings as scheduled by the Educational Services department.
Serves as an additional resource for schools in trying to meet the educational needs of students.
Performs other work-related duties of similar nature or level.

The following is required:
Associates Degree from an accredited college or university (60 hours of college course work is also acceptable OR obtained passing score on an ADE-approved assessment. (official score report, transcripts, or diploma must be presented at the time of application.)

Must provide own transportation.
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):
Position in this class typically require: reaching, grasping, speaking, hearing, vision, and repetitive motions.
May require: pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or neglibile amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
