Cartwright Early Childhood Programs
JOB GOAL: To build teacher capacity and student success in all academic areas, with an emphasis on English Language Arts. The primary goal is on pre-academic goals, ensuring students are prepared to enter kindergarten in the Cartwright District. Additionally, position supports the Director of Early Childhood with daily operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Arizona Elementary Teaching Certificate
- Must Hold the Following: Reading Endorsement
- Prefer Early Childhood Certificate/Endorsement
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience in a multicultural setting preferred-prefer Early Childhood Experience
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Move On When Reading Legislation or willingness to learn
- Ability to navigate AIMSWeb Plus Software or willingness to learn
- Demonstrates proficiency in teaching early literacy evidenced by principal’s evaluations and student achievement
- Demonstrates knowledge of AZCCRS and instructional materials for English Language Arts
- Demonstrates knowledge of and works effectively in a professional learning community
- Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment as they relate to each other and influence student achievement
- Demonstrates ability in working with diverse populations (ELL, gifted, Special Education)
- Demonstrate knowledge of state daycare licensing requirements, or a willingness to learn
- Works collaboratively with district and school site
- Holds high expectations for her/himself and colleagues, as well as students
- Evidence of being a life-long learner
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize school issues
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems

REPORTS TO: Director of Preschool and Employee Daycare
SUPERVISES: Site certified and classified staff
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Supports site and district administration with the site professional development plan through facilitation and / or participation in grade level meetings, site professional development and staff
- Supports Pre-K Literacy Team at
- Provides ongoing updates to school principal and Educational Services on status of all Pre-K students (i.e., progress monitoring data).
- Meets and collaborates with administration and MOWR district specialist regarding the progress of the Pre-K Literacy Team and reading
- Participates in professional development at the district and school
- Attends leadership meetings with Educational Services and school
- Analyzes and organizes individual assessment results and state assessment results to determine areas of weakness and shares strategies to address weaknesses through prescriptive
- Provides specialized instructional strategies and a plan for staff members on appropriate intervention (Tier I, II and III) in reading instruction for
- Models First Best Instruction Pre-K classroom teachers (Tier I).
- Facilitates teacher collaboration on components such as progress monitoring, instructional intervention, data analysis and reporting results on a timely on-going
- Continues professional growth through participation in educational meetings and defined professional growth opportunities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas with
- Understands and interprets assessment data, both formal and informal, to inform instructional
- Collaborates with all interventionists and school staff to improve student
- Observes and monitors reading instruction and provides teachers with essential
- To assist in the preparation and monitoring of data necessary for the management of Cartwright Early Childhood Programs
- To assist in the operation and oversight at Cartwright Early Childhood Programs
- Uses the walkthrough process to engage in two-way communication and collaboration with teachers to promote continuous
- Supervises the operation of the buildings, grounds and other school property for the protection of those facilities and the safety of those who use
- Acts ethically and professionally in personal conduct, relationships with others, decision- making, stewardship of the school's resources, and all aspects of school
- To provide necessary Professional Development to Early Childhood certified and classified staff
- Cover classes as necessary to ensure state ratios are maintained at all time
- Provide ongoing training to staff in regards to licensing requirements
- Work with outside agencies to ensure best practices in the facility (such as First Things First, Quality First)
- Complete certified and classified evaluations
- Cover duties and responsibilities at Cartwright Employee Daycare when needed
- To perform such other work-related tasks as may be
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher Salary Schedule and fringe benefits as approved by the Governing Board. Employment term will be determined by the Certified Teaching Staff Work Calendar. An additional stipend will be paid for days worked prior to the start of the Certified Teaching Staff Work Calendar and for days worked after the end of the Certified Teaching Staff Work Calendar. Salary and fringe benefits as approved by the Governing Board, per Teacher Salary Schedule.
